Girls Inc. of Kingsport is an after school and summer program for girls 4-18. We provide a fun and safe environment for girls to make new friends, further artistic and athletic abilities, and supplement learning in the classroom.
We have sports teams throughout the year (basketball, soccer, volleyball, track, etc.). All practices and games take place on site during normal operating hours. Every league is considered a “learning league”: no experience is necessary. The girls learn the fundamentals while getting to be part of a team.
Outreach programs include Gallery Girls, where girls make artistic pieces to display at the Renaissance Center, City to Saddle, and Preventing Adolescent Pregnancy. We have many community partners that help us offer a wide variety of fun and engaging classes. For example, volunteers run sewing classes as well as three different Bible classes every week.
All of this is in addition to our wonderful national programs. Our trained staff delivers these research based informal education classes. We offer programming that is strong, smart, and bold. Strong programming revolves around health and wellness. Smart programming offers academic enrichment. Bold programming focuses on culture, heritage, and life skills. Classes are divided by age group to ensure content is developmentally appropriate. Call or come by today to learn more!
